PLAY GROUP

AGE GROUP – 5 YEARS – 6 YEARS

The Kindergarten 2 represents the age group of 5 years – 6 years. Students are guided by the domains of child development which are of global significance that are explored using knowledge and skills derived from with a powerful emphasis on inquiry-based learning. We strive for a balance between children’s search for understanding, the acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, the development of positive attitudes and the opportunity for positive action. Students are encouraged to reflect, choose wisely and to act responsibly with their peers, school staff and in the wider community. Through such service, students are able to grow socially and personally, developing skills such as cooperation, problem solving, conflict resolution and creative and critical thinking Aspire stepped into the field of early childhood education on 12 May 2012 at Zahidpora, Hawal. The primary purpose was to redefine the early childhood education provided in the Kashmir Valley. Before Aspire, preschools in Kashmir had no philosophy to guide and were teacher-centered. Many wrong practices like over-academic focus, less focus on play, and writing at an early age were in vogue at preschools. Parents were obsessive about testing, lecturing, assessing, and filling young children with information, and pressuring them to learn too much too soon. To stop the unfair practices in early childhood education, Aspire has worked hard to debunk parents’s obsession with preparing kids academically and convince the vast majority of research in early childhood education shows that these unfair practices are detrimental to
child development. The quality offered by Aspire in the field of early childhood education was remarkable. On the demands of parents, the preschool was upgraded to school under the name Aspire Heritage School on 1 July 2021.

NURSERY

AGE GROUP – 3 YEARS – 4 YEARS

Nursery represents the age group of 3 years to 4 years. Students learn through both an inquiry-based approach and purposeful play. Our engaging, hands-on teaching approach is based on substantial research that engages young children in play and develops greater language skills, social skills, more empathy, imagination and a better capacity to understand others. This play-based approach is not a chaotic way of teaching, rather it provides the optimal balance between a classroom rich in child-initiated play and focused learning activities guided by our teachers. We practice and build up ideas, concepts and skills in children and teach to understand the need for rules, take risks and make mistakes, think creatively and imaginatively and communicate with others as they investigate or solve
problems.

Along the way, children develop at their pace, into happy secure little explorers picking up practical concepts through age-appropriate learning aids and innovative play ‘n’ learn programs that draw from their innate linguistic, arithmetic and creative capabilities.
