Our learning pedagogy is play based. Purposeful play enables children to learn in a fun-filled way without getting exposed to toxic stress due to adverse childhood experiences. We allow children to take risks and make mistakes, think creatively and imaginatively, and communicate with others as they investigate or solve problems.
Aspire Heritage builds a strong foundation in social, pre-academic, and general life skills. It helps in the development of a child’s emotional and personal growth and provides opportunities for children to learn in ways that interest them and develop a strong sense of curiosity. Consequently, it helps in building a positive association with inquisitive learning in the form of fun activities and guided play.
As the child begins to discover the world around them, these five years play a key role in a child’s life. It has been proven through scientific research that in the first five years of life, a child’s brain develops more and faster than at any other time in his life. The research done in neuroscience confirms the significance of the early years in a child’s life particularly since almost 90 – 95% of brain development has already taken place when a child is almost five to seven years of age and whatever stimulus a brain receives during these years determines the kind of personality he will grow up with. These years lay the bedrock that shapes children’s future growth, health, happiness, development, and learning achievements in school life, in a family and society, and generally in life.
Aspire stepped into the field of early childhood education on 12 May 2012 at Zahidpora, Hawal. The primary purpose was to redefine the early childhood education provided in the Kashmir Valley. Before Aspire, preschools in Kashmir had no philosophy to guide and were a teacher- centred. Many wrong practices like over-academic focus, less focus on play, and writing at an early age were in vogue at preschools. Parents were obsessive about testing, lecturing, assessing, and filling young children with information, and pressuring them to learn too much too soon. To stop the unfair practices in early childhood education, Aspire has worked hard to debunk parents’s obsession with preparing kids academically and convince the vast majority of research in early childhood education shows that these unfair practices are detrimental to child development. The quality offered by Aspire in the field of early childhood education was remarkable. On the demands of parents, the preschool was upgraded to a school under the name Aspire Heritage School on 1 July 2021.
The curriculum offered by Aspire Heritage School paves an excellent path for students to step up to the next level of learning in early childhood education. Our curriculum design incorporates three main schools of thought i.e. Montessori, Reggio Emilia Method, and Waldorf Method aiming for the fullest possible development of the whole child, ultimately preparing children for life’s many rich experiences. It believes in bringing out the best in children and helps them reach to their fullest potential.
